In addition to our featured courses that we will discuss most Saturday mornings, I want to add an opportunity to investigate the lives and teachings of Buddhist masters–the patriarchs and matriarchs of the major lineages and other highly realized masters. I would like to experiment with a new method of discussing this material. I will establish lessons, dividing the text used into sections. We will not attempt any sort of on-line debate, but instead those participating in the course will ask questions about the material covered in each lesson and we will discuss these questions. In some cases you may use questions that the facilitator for that text has prepared or derive your own question based on the material. I want to try this method as I have found that determining what questions to ask is so very helpful in learning what that text has to offer. I want the rest of you to have that opportunity. I have provided questions for part of the lessons for this text. We will develop our questions for the rest as we hold these discussions. Depending on how well this experiment works, we may do this for others biographies of Buddhist masters.
I am starting with Lady Niguma as she is not a well known master and because she received her dharma directly from Dorje Chang Buddha, I am curious about how her teachings relate to what we have learned from out own Buddha Master, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. To help us understand and evaluate her teachings you are required to watch and/or read the material in two other courses: D35(A) that provides the evil and erroneous views provided by our Buddha Master in the Supreme and Unsurpassed Mahamudra of Liberation and G03(A) that provides some context for how Lady Niguma fits into the overall foundation of Buddhism that exist in the world today. We study the journey of others who became accomplished to better understand our own journeys. Anyone enrolled in either the Buddhist Studies or Xiuxing Seminary programs at LFBCS may enroll.

In addition to the requirement to prepare a brief Spiritual Autobiography, you will need to complete the following two courses as required for all the biography courses: D35(A)-The 128 Evil and Erroneous Views and G03(A)-Evolution of Buddhism & The Five Vidyas.
