While still in China, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III gave a Dharma Discourse for beginners on the birthday of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva that dealt with the question, “Why do You Learn Buddhism?” In this discourse the Buddha Master discusses the various forms of sufferings that are spoken of by Bodhisattvas. He also defines impermanence and how that is one form of suffering and what we must rely upon. We first listened to a 2010 revision of a preliminary translation of this discourse on Saturday, July 31 and will again on Tuesday, August 17 at 9:00 am PDT. The second part of this discourse on “Cultivating Good Fortune and Wisdom” will be repeated on September 4.
