Virtual Dharma Classes and “Operation Lemonade” Open Mike

Some changes. First, for both the classes and Open Mike, Reba (David Farrell) will be Co-Hosting to help with all aspects technical like admitting, muting, unmuting, chatting, etc. and to help you understand how to “ZOOM” successfully. He has offered to do trial sessions with anyone needing help and can be reached at feraldavidp@gmail.com or at (209) 213-2044. Any test sessions must be days or hours (NOT minutes) before the scheduled meeting. Once the meeting is open at 30 minutes before when the meeting actually starts, he can no longer provide that help. I urge those of you who are not familiar with the Zoom Meeting app, to download the app and try it on your phone, tablet, and/or computer. There are many features you may want to use. Reba and I will both be available before the zoom sessions start to answer questions and help you. You do not need to download the app to join these zoom session, but it is advised to do so.

Secondly, I have decided to require registration for the Dharma Class. I didn’t want to do that, but the troll reports and warnings about Zoom meetings have caused me to be cautious. We do not want any “Zoombombs” that would cause the bombers to gain negative karma or create problems for us. The Dharma of Cultivation transmitted by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is a sacred text and we must treat it with all the care and respect possible. I have already received a number of positive responses from people who want to participate, but I must ask you to register as per the links below. I also decided to not try and do the entire text on one day. I want to have enough time to explain unusual terms or concepts and discuss this material so you can gain the most benefit from this great dharma. The first class, to be held at 2:00 pm (PDT) on Sunday, April 5, 2020 will explain the key concepts and principles on how we can better “manage” our karma. “Manage” is not the Buddha Master’s words, but my old MBA way of thinking finds that a useful way to frame it. The second class is scheduled for the following Sunday (that’s Easter Sunday, but most of you can’t go anywhere), April 12, also at 2:00 pm. If those attending the first session want another time, we can change that.

Out of security and privacy concerns, we will not use whiteboards or share data in the classes. If anyone wants to share anything in the open mike session, please talk to Reba about the matter.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon. Many blessings and warm feelings.

I added headings and subheadings as well as break points to The Dharma of Cultivation so that we can more easily follow the text on-line. CLICK for link.
