The Fourth Vajra Throne Is Recognized in America

In 2011 the site of the Xuanfa Institute was recognized as the Fourth Vajra Throne in the world. A vajra throne or vajrasana (Sanskrit) is a place where either a very holy being resides or was enlightened or a holy place empowered by a great holy being as a place where others will become enlightened. Other sites include Bodhgaya in India, the site of the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Buddha over 2,500 years ago; Wutai-shan in Shanxi,  China, the home of Manjushri Bodhisattva; and the Kathok Monastery in eastern Tibet, empowered by Guru Padmasambhava in the seventh century and the home of over 100,000 disciples who became enlightened and realized the rainbow body. A video about the empowerment of this site by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III can be seen below. Click for more information on the other vajra thrones that exist in the world today.
