The pond has been very full and given the snow in the Sierras, I am hoping it stays that way. It never rains in the summer so that we are dependent upon snow runoff from the Sierras to keep the pond and irrigate the fields.

The only fruiting apricot tree was full of bright pink blossoms weeks ago. Last year it produced a bumper crop around Memorial Day. You can see the Dharma protector Chapel (yurt) hidden under the gigantic pecan tree that has not yet acquired its spring leaves in the photo below. Bo Yi, one of our four temple cats has learned how to open some of the temple doors, but she has yet to master the patio door. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t try. We had an exceptionally warm winter. I don’t think it was ever below freezing. As a result the Bodhi Tree did not loose its leaves. I hope that means it will not die back and grow large enough to resist the cold.
