My explanation of the fifth vidya, the inner realization vidya, will now begin. This vidya mainly refers to inner realization powers stemming from learning and practicing Buddhism. This includes learning the doctrines and truths of exoteric Buddhism, such as the eighteen realms of cognition composed of the six internal sense bases, the six sense objects that they contact, and the six consciousnesses that arise following such contact; understanding that phenomena that arise from the coming together of causes and conditions are in reality fundamentally empty; using the illumination of prajna to observe feelings, action, and consciousness and realize that form, feeling, conceptualization, action, and consciousness as well as sounds, smells, tastes, touches, and objects of mind are all devoid of selfness and fundamentally neither arise nor perish; and realizing in principle and in actuality the one truth of humanity, heaven, and the universe.
To practitioners of yoga, the inner realization vidya can be said to be the total absence of any difference between the universe inside of one’s body and the universe outside of one’s body, which is the very reason underlying the Mind Wind and Bright Points Dharma.”
