We had scheduled a class on the Dharma book The Dharma of Cultivation by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III at the Xuanfa Holy Heavenly Lake Dharma Center in Hesperia, California for April 5, 2020. With the ban on public meetings and “shelter-in-place” rules in effect, all Xuanfa Institute classes and public services, including those at the Holy Vajrasana Temple, will be cancelled though March and April. Using the popular video messaging and interactive platform Zoom, we will attempt to hold part of this class on-line that day with a second class scheduled later. So that those living in other states and countries may also participate, the time has been moved to 2:00 pm. Everyone is invited to join us and learn the important Buddhist principles that enable us to manage our karma and develop bodhichitta. Those who attended the March 1 class in Hesperia received copies of the text, but if you do not have a copy of The Dharma of Cultivation, CLICK for on-line copy.
Zoom allows connection using your phone, tablet, or computer. If you want to join us, you might want to download the Zoom app to familiarize yourself with how it works and check what is possible on your devise. Some features require the most recent operating systems, but you should be able to at least listen. I will open the “waiting room” at 1:30 pm PDT to chat and actually start class at 2:00. We can technically have up to 100 participants, but I do not know what my bandwidth capacity is or how it will work with a large group. Please consider this class as an experiment. If it works, we will consider doing other classes.
