We say goodbye to our dear friend, Vajra Sister, rinpoche, and wonderful human being who left this world July 4 after a long battle with leukemia. I have no words to express the loss we will feel without her presence. I met her in 2008 and she has been with me on so many road trips to Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, Montana, and more places than I can remember. We protested the pipeline going through the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation together, held meditation retreats and even this spring she enabled me to conduct the Kuan Yin Great Compassionate Empowerment again in Salt Lake City at the site where I first met her. She was Board Secretary and sounding board for the development of the Xuanfa Institute and physically did so much to build and enrich the Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger.
Last Monday, July 10, 2023, we chanted and sent our love and dedicated our merit to help her on her first seventh day cycle and will continue to do so for the next six Mondays. Those of you whose lives were touched by this very special being may join us as you see fit. Gesang was not one for frills and fancy words or gestures, but I am sure she would appreciate your sincere regards however you express it. Her loving husband Mark Esterman Roshi has organized a gathering of friends, family, students and colleagues to commemorate and celebrate the life of Margaret Gesang Suolang Park Esterman Rinpoche to be held 9:00 am Pacific Time (10:00 am Mountain Time) on Saturday July 22nd at the Wasatch Retreat Center in the heart of Salt Lake City. He had also put together a beautiful collection of photos of her life and a feature where you may add your thoughts, memories, and appreciations, or read others’ comments in the box below the photos. Please click the saffron link below to see the photos, add your own thoughts, and acquire the ZOOM link to virtually attend the celebration and gathering or how to attend the actual event in Salt Lake City. His webpage also list where you may make donations to her favorite organizations in her honor. Although she loved and grew beautiful flowers, she did not want money spent on flowers for her.

This was beautiful
Thank you Master Rinpoche
She will be missed 🙏
Indeed, she will be missed, especially in our class discussions.
So sorry to lose Sister Gesang, her smiles stayed in our heart and soul. The last time we met were many years back when she happily handed me a Buddha teaching book that she helped published in English. Pray that she is now in Buddha land and continue her pursue to help those sufferings in our world.
She greatly enjoyed her trips to Hong Kong and we both were so appreciative of the kindness and generosity of your group when we did the retreat and blessing of the animals there in 2015.
What a beautiful tribute to my dear teacher Gesang Soulang . I’ve been studying and guided by Gesang Soulang
Since 2012, when I took refuge with her.
She offered all she had, to forward my work with the Buddha Master and the dharma. We traveled that 15 hour journey many times to the temple to work with Master Zhaxi Zhuma. Oh what precious time! Good fortune came in my life with her care, patience and giving over and over.
