This newsletter contains a progress report of the City of Hesperia’s review of Buddhist Town and the challenges faced. It also includes exciting news of a possible collaboration with Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies in Sri Lanka. There will be a seminar with a panel discussion with the Venerable Chandima, the founder of this institute and other professors from Sri Lanka at Holy Heavenly Lakes on June 4. The next day, they will also visit the Holy Vajrasana Temple to pay their respect to the Holy Vajra Poles, our Bodi Tree from Sri Lanka, and discuss our programs at the temple and our Learning from Buddha College and Seminary. The newsletter provides more background on the events and how you can join them.
We will provide a more detailed schedule of related events as they unfold. Please let me know if you are coming to our temple in Sanger for this event so we can plan accordingly. We understand that there may be 200 pilgrims making the trip to Sanger and on to San Francisco that evening.
