This is the first of a series of four Learning from Buddha College and Seminary (LFBCS) courses that uses the text, meaning, and principles of the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra to transmit the Dharma. DCB22 will begin with a two-hour zoom session on February 10, 9:00 am Pacific Time from the Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, California. I will lead from a list of around 300 questions and read from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra to provide the answers to these questions. The sessions will be recorded so you can return to study the text and gain insight from the discussion.
DCB21-Expounding the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra: PART ONE used a similar format providing Saturday zoom discussions from November 21, 2022 to April 1, 2023. We revisited the DCB21 classes on the Six Paramitas and reviewed the Buddha Masters writings on dhyana(ta) and wisdom(prajna) for C41(A) Lesson 5-The Path of Bodhichitta. We hope to finish reviewing another part of DCB21 at our next zoom session on February 3 to better understand how the Madhyamaka or Middle Way School of Master Nagarjuna, the Other Emptiness School of the Jonang Sect, and the Consciousness Only School of Master Xuanzang explained emptiness. You can join that class as well by enrolling in either C41(A) or DCB22 and registering through zoom (Step Two below).
Here’s what you need to do to join this class. Click underlined bold type items to access links.
STEP ONE: Enroll in Learning from Buddha College & Seminary Course DCB22 as either a Buddhist Studies or Xiuxing Seminary Student. Once enrolled you may go to course and download the questions covered in the discussions and watch videos of sessions held on the earlier classes. You may also watch and participate in the ZOOM sessions for this class by enrolling in C41(A)-Three Principal Stages & Paths of Buddhist Practice, but you will not be able to access the questions or the video recordings of the DCB zoom classes. C41(A) is available for Auditing Students with a free membership as well as the full membership students in the Buddhist Studies and Xiuxing Seminary programs. The DCB courses do require membership in either the Buddhist Studies or Xiuxing Seminary programs.
