The World Buddhism Association Headquarters Headquarters (WBAH) recently responded to a question raised by a disciple who had attended a Determination through Holy Selection of the Dharma of Yamantaka Vajra and had the good fortune to actually see the true appearance of Yamantaka Vajra. He noted that of the 27 candidates who attended this assembly only two were successful in achieving this state. Why is this? Why can those who have lineage transmissions of high Vajra Dharma and practice faithfully not be able to become accomplished? What do we do wrong?
WBAH responded that “…Vajra Dharmas all have been performed successfully by ancient virtuous persons and patriarchs. Yet, there are also many people who did not receive benefits after practicing the Dharma for an entire lifetime. The main and crucial reason is in whether the disciple receiving the Dharma obtained a genuine transmission at the time of receiving the Dharma. It is especially important to know whether the master transmitting the Dharma has received the true lineage or not.” The announcement went on to explain that there are two types of lineages: a worldly transmission through a human master and a holy transmission transmitted by the Yidam and the conditions of each.
At the end of the announcement there is mention of several dharma assemblies that will be held this year including a Determination by Holy Selection on practitioners of the Kalachakra Vajra Dharma during January-February 2019 timeframe. Attendees and practitioners will all be able to see the Yidam manifesting with their own eyes. From March to May, there will also be a Xianliang discovery of terma Dharma treasure. After that there will be dharma assemblies of Determination by Holy Selection for practitioners of the Vajra Division, the Lotus Division, the Karma Division, and the Yoga Division. The dates are to be scheduled. You should read this Announcement No. 20190101 and others at the same site on these matters.
