Class on “Learning from Buddha” Continues on November 22, 2020

Cover of Chinese book “Learning from Buddha”.

We continued our discussion the second lesson on Learning from Buddha on Buddha Dharma. We discussed where to find the Pure Lands and the three stages of arousing Bodhichitta done prior to beginning the main practice of Buddha Dharma as well as the various steps in the main practice.

Next week we will review this lesson. I’m posting the following six questions to consider as homework for the class.

1-Where does the Western Pure Land, the World of Ultimate Bliss exist?

2-Can someone who does not possess the Five Vidyas be a Bodhisattva?

3-What is the correct mindset to hold in the completion stage of bodhichitta?

4- And in the perfection stage?

5-what is the first step of the main practice?

6-Why are certain mantras chanted seven times?

Please send me or post in the comments below any other questions you want to include in our review.

Next Sunday we also will hopefully finish the second lesson with the concluding practices of how you bid farewell to your yidam and dedicate all of the merit of your practice. We will also discuss several examples of Dharma practice including that of Dharma Protector Rahula and the Avalokiteshvara (Kuan Yin) Bodhisattva Great Compassion Empowerment Dharma.
