The Unsurpassed Top Dharma Among the 84,000 Dharma Methods from the Buddha
Regarding your inquiry about the ranking among the Eighteen Dharmas, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH) now very seriously issue the following public announcement with a one-hundred-percent certainty of correctness.
It seems that you are not recipients of the initiation of the Dharma of Determining Beneficial Increase or Regressing Loss on the Bodhi Path, but had the karmic condition to have attended a ceremony of initiation for a Holy Guru and seen the holy state. That is why you do not know the ranking of the Dharmas.
Buddhist disciples must first understand that the purpose of learning from Buddha is to attain good fortune and wisdom, break away from the suffering of ordinary beings in samsara, and become holy ones. The Eighteen Dharmas listed by WBAH are all great Dharmas with true form manifested by the state among the 84,000 Dharma methods imparted by the Buddha. Since these great Dharmas have different functions and usages, when used for different purposes, the ranking and ordering of the Dharmas will be different.
Ranking in terms of the goal of attaining accomplishment and liberation through learning from Buddha, the first-place is “Initiation with Buddha-bestowed Nectar,” also named the “Dharma of Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi for Clear Awakening During the Day.” This is the Supreme, correct, and equal highest and holiest great King Dharma among the 84,000 Dharma methods. The second place is the King’s Right Minister Dharma, the “Dharma of Determining Beneficial Increase or Regressing Loss on the Bodhi Path,” also called the “Top Dharma of Awakening to Great Enlightenment.” The third place is the King’s Left Minister Dharma, “Presenting a Petition to a Bodhisattva.” This Dharma is also called the “Best Dharma with Holy and Direct Recommendation for Acceptance.” These three Dharmas are together called the “Unsurpassable, Correct, Equal, and Holiest King and Minster Dharmas of the Dharma Sphere” and are the champion Dharmas for ensuring the great accomplishment of transforming from mundane to holy in the current lifetime. All these three Dharmas are Dharmas manifesting the state in reality by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and are not empty theories. However, only a Buddha or a Bodhisattva with equal enlightenment or marvelous enlightenment can confer such highest holy initiation and Dharma transmission for a disciple!
When taking the genuine precious nectar and learning the verbal practice of the initiation at the time of receiving an “Initiation with Buddha-bestowed Nectar,” the recipient’s bones and tenderloins will generate cracking sounds. The 84,000 meridian knots within the body will be opened up. Within two hours, the person will realize the dharmakaya of original nature, realizing perfect holy realization and attaining great accomplishment.
One who receives the initiation of the King’s Right Minister Dharma, “Dharma of Determining Beneficial Increase or Regressing Loss on the Bodhi Path,” will be guaranteed by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to attain accomplishment in the current lifetime. This person will transform from a mundane person into a holy being, perfectly realizing the great holy state. The disciple receiving the initiation will obtain the Bodhi pill(s) awarded by the Buddha or Bodhisattva in the sky on the spot. From then on, the disciple can take one pill every month.
Such Bodhi pills come from nowhere and out of nothing and have utmost holy power. The pills are absolutely indispensable for initiations of many holy great Dharmas. Otherwise, the initiation will have no effect. In the case of the “Dharma of Reviving the deceased,” putting one pill into the mouth of a deceased person can revive the person. Also, for the ceremonies of “Initiation of Enlightenment Practice,” “Initiation of Affinity with the Yidam,” “Xianliang Great Perfection,” “Before Sound Meditation,” “Single-taste Meditation,” “Holy Fire Offering,” “Vajra Battle Formation,” “Large-scale Form of Eight-wind Battle Formation,” “Asking for truth from the Hanging Elms Bowl,” and “Horsehead Vidyaraja Water Mandala Bead Divination,” such Bodhi pills are required for presenting offerings. Only then will there be the desired effects.
One who receives the initiation of the King’s Left Minister Dharma, “Presenting a Petition to a Bodhisattva,” can practice any Buddha Dharma. The Buddha or Bodhisattva with equal enlightenment or marvelous enlightenment will personally guarantee your acceptance for turning from a mundane person into a great holy being in the current lifetime. At the site where the disciple is receiving the Dharma, the Yidam, who is a Buddha or Bodhisattva, will come from the sky to take away the petition presented by the disciple on the spot, promising to send the disciple to the Buddha-land. This the great Dharma that guarantees with the absolute certainty the disciple to transform into a holy being in the current lifetime.
We will use an analogy of traveling on the ocean, which may not be quite correct. The Dharma method of chanting Buddha ‘s name used by the Pure Land School is like a wooden raft floating on the sea. It is slow and steady, but there is no guarantee of safety when there are gusty winds and big waves. The Phowa Dharma is like adding a lifebuoy, but it is still difficult to survive gusty winds and big waves. The Dharma method of awakening from contemplating meditation is similar to taking a yacht or ship operated by a novice mariner. By coincidence, you may be quickly ferried to the other shore. If you are not going in the right direction, you would stay where you are or go recklessly at the risk of collision. Ordinary persons are outsiders to contemplating meditation. How can they awaken to Dharma nature easily? The other sects and schools such as Esoteric Buddhism, Consciousness-only, Huayan, and so on resemble taking different yachts and ferry boats to travel on the ocean, with non-definitive safety and risk factors.
The only Dharmas that can ensure accomplishment just by practicing the Dharma are the “Unsurpassable, Correct, Equal, and Holiest King and Minster Dharmas of the Dharma Sphere” of “Initiation with Buddha-bestowed Genuine Authentic Nectar,” the “Dharma of Determining Beneficial Increase or Regressing Loss on the Bodhi Path,” and “Presenting a Petition to a Bodhisattva.” These three Dharmas are like aircraft-carriers sailing on ocean equipped with everything needed to be invincible for any situation.
However, in the case of “Initiation with Buddha-bestowed Genuine Authentic Nectar,” only high-level great Holy Gurus with utmost venerability can receive an “Initiation with Buddha-bestowed Genuine Authentic Nectar.” Others can at most have the opportunity of receiving Nectar Sprinkling Initiation or taking nectar pills. This is because potential recipients will be judged in terms of mind and conduct, to see how big your actual merit is in doing Buddhist works. Otherwise, you will not pass the determination by selection to receive the initiation.
Only Buddhist disciples who are very sincere, make full effort, and have actually generated great merit can receive the initiation of the King’s Right Minister Dharma, “Dharma of Determining Beneficial Increase or Regressing Loss on the Bodhi Path.” This is because one must first pass the determination by selection before receiving the initiation. The requirement for receiving the initiation of the King’s Left Minister Dharma, “Presenting a Petition to a Bodhisattva” is the same as that for receiving the initiation of the King’s Right Minister Dharma.
If the ranking is in terms of manifesting holy realization, the order will be “Holy Fire Offering,” “Forecasting ahead of Time,” “Uncovering Termo with Direct Verification,” “Establishing the Mandala through the Separation of a Stone,” “Bodhi Holy Water,” “Manifesting Holiness through the Vajra Pill’s Skiing-like Movement,” “Lifting Pestle onto the Platform,” and so forth. In terms of the magnificently strong power from the holy state, Dharmas ranked first are “Vajra Battle Formation,” “Large-scale Form of the Eight-winds Battle Formation,” and so forth. In the aspect of determination by selection, the order is “Determination by Vajra Pole,” “Asking for Truth from the Hanging Elms Bowl,” “Vajra Faman Determination by Selection,” “Horsehead Vidyaraja Water Mandala Bead Divination,” “Famen Gongyu,” “Determination by Selection with Dual Verification,” and so forth. Therefore, different Dharmas have different functions and effects.
Since the fundamental purpose of learning from Buddha is to end the cycle of birth and death, all the 84,000 Dharma methods are below the three great top-level King and Minister Dharmas and are not at the same level in terms of the marvelous state and enlightenment realization manifested in time and space. However, the three great top-level King and Minister Dharmas as well as all Buddha Dharmas require the cultivation from the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation imparted by Namo His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III and published on the internet. Then, the effect and power will be magnified by 1,000 times.
