We will continue our detailed on-line study of Learning from Buddha, the recently released in English sutra by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, next Sunday afternoon, September 27, at 2:00 pm PDT.
CLICK to register. You will be given instructions on how to join the class.
If you missed last week’s class, we will review the first class which covered the explanation by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters of two photos of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and a short discourse on the photos by the Buddha Master that contains eleven principles that must be followed to accomplish the perfect enlightenment of a Buddha (See quote).
Next week we will review what we have covered (CLICK for Homework questions) and begin the study of the first of the three parts of this text on cultivation: “If You Learn Dharma but Do Not Cultivate Yourself, You Cannot Attain Accomplishment.” The other two parts are on tantric or yidam practice, “If You Cultivate Yourself but Do Not Learn Dharma, You Cannot Generate Realization Powers” and implementation, “If You Do Not Put into Practice the Lessons You Have Heard on Cultivation and Dharma, It Will Be Like Trying to Scoop up the Reflection of the Moon on Water.” Since it is essential that we have a thorough understanding of this important original sutra, we will take as much time as we need to discuss, debate, and reflect on this text, I am not predicting how long this series will take. Anyone may join the class. On-line inks to this short text are provided below.
As soon as it was released, I notified you that you could download and read an English translation of the very important little book Learning from Buddha. After that several revisions were made and you may want to view the corrected copy either at the World Buddhism Association Headquarters or on the Holy Vajrasana Temple websites. There will, no doubt, be additional corrections as more typos are discovered.
