In 2011 the mayor of the District of Columbia declared January 19 as His Holiness. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day in the Nation’a capitol. Since then we have celebrated that day, honoring the vast number of accomplishments His Holiness has amassed in His lifetime and His selfless and exceptional work to spread the word of peace and prosperity for all. His holiness has for several years blessed us in turn with a special discourse that we listen to for the first time on that day.
Chanting and meditation starts this Sunday at 10:00 am with an English dharma talk on “What Is Buddhism and Who Is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III?” at 11:00 am followed by lunch provided by the temple.
A Chinese CD of a new discourse by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III entitled, “The Buddha Has Realized the Intrinsically Existing Truth of No Arising and No Perishing in the Universe and in Human Lives, Which Was Not Created by the Buddha” will be played and listened to at 2:00 pm. There will be chanting in Chinese at 4:00 pm and again at 5:00 pm in English.
