I will be reading from a preliminary English translation of a very important book by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III entitled Learning from Buddha. The book is based on three discourses given by the Buddha Master to explain yidam or tantric practice and the correct understanding of Buddha-dharma. There are three parts that cover the two aspects of Buddhist practice–the cultivation of character and the cultivation of mind–and how you do each. The first class will be held on September 14 from 10:00 am until noon at the Eye of the Buddha, 4247 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA on “One Who Learns Dharma but Does Not Cultivate Oneself Cannot Attain Accomplishment.”
The second will be on November 16 on “If You Cultivate Yourself But Do Not Learn Dharma, You Cannot Generate Realization Powers” and the third on December 7 on “If You Do Not Put Into Practice the Lessons You Have Heard on Cultivation and Dharma, It Will Be Like Trying to Scoop Up the Reflection of the Moon on Water.”
CLICK for other links to more information about these classes when they were given elsewhere and HERE for background on the introduction included in this book that explains the transformation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III shown here and the essence of what the Buddha taught.
There will be no class in October in San Diego due to the weeklong retreat being held to continue the study of Imparting the Absolute Truth Through the Heart Sutra at the Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, CA starting at 7:00 pm October 11 and ending October 20 at noon. I hope many can attend these events.
