Visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Last week I was able to visit both Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It is about an hour and a half drive from the temple. We are located right next to the foothills, so the drive is a delightful trip straight up the mountain side. The trip down the other side into Kings Canyon is one of endless switchbacks and scenic views. These are some of the photos of our trip by Gongjue Tuji Rinpoche. Be sure and view the videos of Grizzly Falls and the General Grant Tree to catch the flavor and sound of the place. Bright blue skies and a cool, sunny day were a welcome relief from the heat of the valley. Gongjue was also able to visit the world’s largest tree, the General Sherman, but we do not have any photos of it. When you visit the temple, be sure and plan on extra time to visit these beautiful parks or, if you have a little more time, Yosemite, which is only a little farther, but a lot more people. Be careful, you may need a permit to even enter or drive through Yosemite during peak season now.
